ULA+ Correction 2024-02-29 - CORRECTION - CORRECTED
CORRECTION - There appears to be a glitch on game complete screen - testing and confirming it is related to the ULA+ patch. The ULA+ tap has temporarily been taken down.
Update - have gone back to previous Tape image and ran it through the ULA+ fixer instead and tested. Looks to work and game completion screen looks to be correct again. Download re-instated.
After a bit of a search online to see if people were talking about noon30 Shovel Duck, I noticed that a few screenshots were showing up that looked a little... different to how I was expecting.
Things like:
When I first put together Shovel Duck I was unaware of the ULA+ setting; but looking at these screenshots... There's a lot more BROWN in there than I was expecting. Especially as BROWN isn't one of the normal colours available on the Spectrum Originally I tried to correct in MPAGD by setting the ULA+ colours to match , but it seemed to not work. (Mostly it didn't seem to transfer the correct brightness versions of colours like "BLUE" over and instead had them be the same).
Fortunately, a kind soul has created a ULA+ fixing programme : ZX Spectrum non-ULAplus AGD-Games Colour Fixer which means I've been able to drag and drop and correct the colours for ULA+ users. THANK YOU FOR THAT.
Hopefully this will give a better experience for those users. The game should be no different to the existing one, other than the colour fix. ie.
(My other game "Money Mouse" hasn't had the correction, but looks a lot better with the ULA+ colours so I will be leaving it as is)
Shovel Duck II will either have the colour fix applied by default, or will have a nice ULA+ set of colours selected so it looks good whatever hardware is being used.
If you're not using an emulator or actual hardware that cares about ULA+, you do not need to do anything. This is only a fix for ULA+ users. (You can download it, but regular Spectrum ULA colour users will see no difference other than the Copyright 2024 message on the menu screen). UPDATED. Any 2024 Copyright messages have the errored completion screen. (I'm going to have to find which version of the source is the last, complete version as it wasn't the one I tweaked earlier!)

Thank you for the comment and for giving the game a go; the font for this one was aiming for the feel of those old randsom notes people got in tv and film where the letters were all different having been cut out from various magazines. It was a good idea in my head, I'm not sure it translated the best to the screen. I think working with music/ sound will be something I'll look at more with future games. Thank you again for the comment.
