2024-03-26 Approaching Alpha Demo release

The focus of the past week has been to get the game to alpha/ Demo release state. It's almost there and probably, over the bank holiday Easter weekend coming up will get enough polish, tweaks and bugfixes to make me happy enough for a wider audience to have a play with it.

As (I hope) you can see in the attached screen, a lot of work has gone into the level design (not showing too much because SPOILERS) which will play into the more puzzle "how do I get over there?" aspects of the platforming bit of the game. I am working around puzzles using the shovel (Also, using those activation pads you might notice in the screenshot).

I think I'm getting more of my usual "look" to the game now I've moved from POC to actual game levels.

In the alpha/ Demo, you'll have the whole of this top level to explore, the first "dig down" section and some of the second level.

The full game should have between 3 and 5 different levels, some good old-fashioned Dizzy/Wally style puzzles, and hopefully a couple of surprises along the way... memory allowing. I am expecting the intro menu to change between the alpha/demo and the final release, and I'm expecting graphical and audio tweaks along the way.

I'm definitely happy with progress. Focus for this next week is to get the demo released, which shouldn't be that difficult as I'm most of the way there...

Looking forward to the release :)

Thank you! I am aiming to have the demo / alpha up Sunday/Monday and then I'll be cracking on with puzzles and tasks for level 2 onwards.
